Public Open Space Strategy Community Survey
The City of Greater Geraldton is currently preparing a Public Open Space Strategy (POSS), and is seeking community input in the form of a survey.
Survey participants will go into a draw to win a $100 gift voucher from a local sports store.
The survey is designed to gather information on residents’ recreational needs and preferences and the quality of recreational space in Geraldton and is a direct outcome of the Designing Our City Forum which was held in August last year.
The POSS will consist of an audit of all areas of recreational space within the City of Greater Geraldton and will include an assessment of those areas based on their size, function and type of facilities present. The information from the audit will be used to make strategic recommendations about the level of services that would be required in both existing and future recreational space.
Recreational space primarily includes green spaces such as local parks, however, recreational space can also include areas of coastal foreshore that have been provided with services and facilities.
The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, May 18, 2012.
