Dear Fellow Grower,

To gauge a better understanding of regional skills within the Northern Agricultural region, North East Farming Futures Inc (NEFF) have prepared a Professional skills development survey, in an attempt to gather information on where regional issues and up-skilling is sought and required by farmers.

The survey attempts to gather information for analysis on regional issues for skill development and support.

This survey is very much driven at a local level in the areas of Chapman Valley, Mullewa, Morawa and Perenjori for on ground feedback to assist in addressing this regions needs and skill development.

The survey covers 6 major areas of farming activity. These include:-

² Managing People            ² Managing the Business             ² Managing Natural Resources

² Managing Finances        ² Marketing the Product               ² Managing Production

It would be greatly appreciated if you could complete this survey by inserting a number between 1 and 6 (with 1 being low and 6 being high) for each of the survey line items listed in columns A & B. A further Low, Medium and High rating is also required for columns C & D.

The results of the survey will be used by NEFF to prepare a summary report to sponsors FarmBis on the main training issues impacting on this region. Please be assured that names and addresses will only be used for FarmBis registration. A full copy of the final report will also be provided to each survey participant.

The information provided will also become a useful tool when NEFF approaches Government to seek assistance and support for the Northern Agricultural Region.

It would be greatly appreciated if each person on your farm could complete this survey so age and gender individual skill needs will be identified. Additional copies can be downloaded from here.
